Job summary

Diversicare of Martin in Martin, TN is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support post-acute care facilities. The role focuses on HVAC and basic building repairs, ensuring safety compliance and timely maintenance across centers.

You will perform repairs, coordinate with managers and keep detailed records while prioritizing resident well-being. Ideal candidates have HVAC experience, electrical/plumbing skills, and a positive attitude toward the elderly, with high school or GED and basic computer

Qualifications

  • HVAC repair experience required.
  • Intermediate electrical and plumbing repair skills.
  • Knowledge of water heaters, generators and refrigeration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
  • High School/GED completion or ability to read and follow directions.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain maintenance records.
  • Perform building and equipment repairs as per work orders.
  • Conduct fire safety equipment tests under guidance.
  • Inspect building systems and log findings.
  • Coordinate maintenance services with department managers.
  • Perform basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as required.
  • Maintain the building in good repair and compliant with laws.
  • Follow safety rules and Policies & Procedures.
  • Order equipment and supplies and maintain records.
  • May need to drive for company business.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and treat residents with dignity.

Responsibilities
  • Performs preventative maintenance and maintains maintenance records as instructed.
  • Perform building and equipment repairs, as per work order requests.
  • Performs fire safety equipment tests under the guidance of the Regional Maintenance Director.
  • Inspects building systems as scheduled and log findings.
  • Coordinate maintenance services with department managers to ensure building and equipment performance without interruption.
  • Performs basic carpentry, drywall, flooring and painting as required to maintain favorable building appearance.
  • Maintains the building in good repair and in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
  • Follows established safety rules and Policies & Procedures of building.
  • Order equipment and supplies as necessary; and maintain proper records of repairs and purchases.
  • May be required to drive for company business with either company vehicle personal vehicle
  • Maintain resident confidentiality; treat residents with kindness, dignity and respect
Qualifications
  • Must have demonstrated HVAC repair experience.
  • Intermediate skillset in electric and plumbing repair highly desired.
  • Knowledge of water heaters, generators commercial kitchen equipment and refrigeration would be a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations and blueprint interpretation.
  • Completion of High School/GED education or otherwise show ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions.
  • Basic computerliteracy
  • Positive attitude toward the elderly
