Job summary

Claiborne Senior Living is seeking a reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the daily upkeep, safety, and appearance of our senior living community in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

In this role you will perform routine maintenance and repairs, assist with preventive programs, and help keep buildings and grounds in top condition. A high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of facilities experience are preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be flexible for emergency needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1–3 years maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable and able to work independently.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to be flexible for occasional emergency response needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine maintenance and repair of building systems.
• Support preventative maintenance programs.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and equipment.
• Follow safety and OSHA guidelines.
• Assist with emergency repairs as needed.
• Help maintain organized maintenance records.
