Job summary

Costco Wholesale Corporation is hiring for a janitorial and general maintenance role in a warehouse setting. You will clean floors, offices, break rooms and restrooms using floor scrubbing machines, sweep, mop, and restock supplies while following departmental standards.

You will also perform light maintenance tasks, assist with fixtures and displays, outdoors maintenance, and ensure safety protocols. The position requires flexibility to support other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean warehouse floors, offices, break room, and restrooms with scrubbing machinery and by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping.
• Restock supplies and follow departmental cleanliness standards.
• Paints, replaces bulbs, maintains equipment, and assists in building displays and fixtures.
• Maintain outdoor grounds: blow leaves, pick up litter, roof checks, pressure wash, and snow/ice removal.
• Follow safety procedures, respond quickly to spills, and dispose of hazardous materials properly.
• Operate garbage compactor and cardboard baler; empty trash and maintain routine task schedules.
• Drive personal vehicle to purchase supplies and parts for projects; assist in other departments as needed.

Job Duties

• Cleans warehouse floors, offices, break room, and restrooms by operating self-propelled floor scrubbing machinery, and by sweeping, mopping, spraying, and wiping. Follows departmental procedures and standards for cleanliness and performance of duties. Restocks supplies.
• Paints, replaces bulbs, maintains equipment, and performs routine repairs throughout the warehouse. Assists in building displays and fixtures.
• Maintains grounds outside the warehouse including blowing leaves, picking up litter, roof checks, pressure washing, and building maintenance. Participates in snow and ice removal.
• Follows safety and security procedures, such as tagging and locking off power access when working on electrical equipment or contracting out electrical work, wearing safety goggles when using compactor and baler, product disposal. Responds quickly to clean up spills.
• Empties trash from designated areas throughout the warehouse. Operates garbage compactor and cardboard baler.
• Checks daily schedule for assigned routine tasks and maintenance repair jobs.
• Drives personal vehicle to purchase supplies and parts needed for projects.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
