Job summary

Costco Wholesale in Tucson, AZ is seeking a front-line associate to greet members, verify memberships, and conduct safety and security checks at the entrance and throughout the warehouse.

The role includes counting entering members, reporting metrics, and supporting various departments as needed. A focus on safety, attentiveness to detail, and the ability to respond to incidents are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly building safety and security checks; walk the building and perimeter, push carts, and tidy areas.
• Correct safety issues such as spills, hazards, and blocked exits; file reports and inform the duty manager; attend safety meetings.
• Maintain the entrance area: open/close doors, greet members, verify membership cards, offer carts, and keep areas clean and dry.
• Use a handheld counter to track entering members; report half-hours to front end managers and log weekly counts.
• Monitor for suspicious activity, report to the duty manager, and contact authorities if necessary.
• Ensure proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operate vehicles, equipment or machinery as needed.
• Assist in department duties and other warehouse areas as necessary.
• Provide proof of authorization to work in the United States.

Position Summary

Actively greets members, verifies membership card, keeps entry counts, and checks receipts upon members exiting. Performs and documents warehouse safety and security checks. Provides a high level of member service.

Job Duties

• Conducts hourly building safety and security checks. Walks the building and perimeter, pushes carts and picks up stray items or puts items away.
• Corrects safety and security problems encountered, such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits. Fills out reports and shows results to the duty manager. Attends warehouse safety meetings.
• Maintains the entrance area consisting of opening/closing store doors, greeting members, verifying membership card, offering a cart, directing members, keeping coffee grinder clean, and keeping entrance/exit area clean and dry.
• Uses a handheld clicker to keep count of entering members, reports half-hours to front end managers, and records counts on weekly reports.
• Maintains the entrance area consisting of opening/closing store doors, proactively greeting all members as they enter and utilizing information from the membership scanner to acknowledge membership status and length, verifying membership cards, offering a cart, directing members, keeping coffee grinder clean, and keeping entrance/exit area clean and dry. Ensures workers make it to their cars safely, watches for members trying to enter the store, and scans for general suspicious behavior.
• Watch closing managers leave, report any suspicious activity to duty manager, and calls police if necessary.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Assists with department duties as necessary.
• Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
