Rosewood Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to support the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our skilled nursing facility. The Maintenance Assistant will assist with routine repairs, preventative maintenance, facility upkeep, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.
Assist with general maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
Perform routine inspections of the building, equipment, rooms, and common areas
Assist with preventative maintenance and address maintenance requests in a timely manner
Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and other general repairs as needed
Replace light bulbs, fixtures, hardware, filters, and other basic maintenance items
Assist with maintaining doors, locks, windows, furniture, and facility equipment
Help keep the grounds and exterior areas safe and well maintained
Respond to maintenance requests from facility staff and residents as appropriate
Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repairs
Assist with emergency maintenance situations when needed
Follow all facility safety procedures, infection control requirements, and regulatory standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Administrator
Previous maintenance, facilities, handyman, construction, or related experience preferred
Skilled nursing, healthcare, hospital, assisted living, or long-term care experience is a plus
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Must be able to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
