Effective July 1, the E. Roy Stone Veterans Pavilion on the CM Tucker campus will transfer to the SC Department of Veteran Affairs. Avalon Health Care, experienced in long-term care for Veterans, will operate the Veterans Home for the SC Department of Veterans Affairs.

Placement within the wage range depends on experience, qualifications, and ability to perform essential functions.

Responsibilities:

• Make rounds, assess, and perform minor repairs. Assist Maintenance Supervisor with larger repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance, including monitoring water temperature, call lights, generator, and fire alarms.
• Assist in training new associates. May be responsible for Maintenance Department in the supervisor's absence.
• Follow work schedules, coordinate with other departments, and advise supervisor of supply or repair needs.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures, including proper use of lifts, gait belts, and protective supports.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with staff.
• Meet local health regulations, pass physical exams, drug screening, background checks, and references.
• Related experience necessary to perform the job.
