Job summary

Touchstone Communities in Texas is seeking a Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in a safe, welcoming environment for residents and Veterans. You will work alongside our Maintenance Director to keep the community safe, compliant, and operating at high standards.

You will perform general repairs, painting, preventative maintenance, and help address maintenance concerns before they affect residents. Excellent communication and a team mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, repairs, painting, carpentry, or facility operations.
• Working knowledge of preventative maintenance and building systems.
• Previous experience in a healthcare, skilled nursing, senior living, or hospitality environment preferred.
• Strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
• Positive attitude and a team-oriented approach.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
• Dedication to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Maintenance Director to complete work orders and facility projects in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment throughout the community.
• Support Life Safety compliance efforts and help ensure survey readiness at all times.
• Perform general repairs, painting, preventative maintenance, and facility upkeep.
• Help identify maintenance concerns and proactively address issues before they impact residents or operations.
• Contribute to a positive resident experience by responding to maintenance needs with a customer service mindset.
