Job summary

Tennessee State Veterans’ Homes seeks a Maintenance Assistant to support upkeep of our facility, grounds, and equipment. You will assist with routine maintenance, inspections, and timely repairs.

Candidates should have a strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read manuals, and good teamwork and safety awareness. Prior maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, such as inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment and machinery.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance requirements and address them promptly.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Support the maintenance team in repairing and maintaining the grounds, including landscaping, irrigation, and snow removal.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure a safe and clean working environment for employees and visitors.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, reporting any safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in performing preventative maintenance activities to prolong the lifespan of equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.

Job Summary
