Job summary

The Pennant Group, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our senior living communities in Alabama. The role focuses on ongoing preventative maintenance, building and grounds upkeep, and assisting residents with basic needs.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, coordinating with vendors, and responding to maintenance emergencies as needed. Qualified candidates will have prior maintenance experience, plumbing knowledge, and a valid driver's license.

About the Opportunity

The Maintenance Assistant provides ongoing preventative maintenance and resident assistance, building and grounds maintenance, troubleshooting maintenance problems and various related tasks as assigned. Performs most tasks independently with occasional assistance of outside vendor. Is available to respond to maintenance emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.

• Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
• Ability to be self-supervising and self-motivating. Able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Must demonstrate a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Prior experience in building maintenance.
• Plumbing, including but not limited to design/mechanics of commodes, plumbing fixtures, drains, discharge lines, hot water heaters, dishwashers, ice machines, etc.
• Must possess a valid driver's license; must have clean driving record with no major violations.
