Job summary

CHC, a nonprofit social service agency serving the Akron area, seeks a dependable Maintenance Assistant to keep our facilities safe, clean, and welcoming. You will prepare housing units for new residents and perform general building maintenance to help create spaces where people can heal and thrive.

Responsibilities include snow removal, light bulb changes, pressure washing, and responding to maintenance requests as needed.

Qualifications

• Reliable, self-motivated and enjoys solving problems.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Keep parking lots and outdoor areas clean by removing snow, leaves, trash, and debris.
• Complete general building maintenance, including changing light bulbs, cleaning windows, minor furniture repairs, and moving office furniture or equipment.
• Pressure wash buildings and sidewalks.
• Prepare housing units for new residents by painting, cleaning, and making them move-in ready.
• Assist with landscaping and seasonal property maintenance.
• Help maintain inventory and restock facility supplies.
• Respond to maintenance requests and assist with special projects as needed.

We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Maintenance Assistant who takes pride in keeping our facilities safe, clean, and welcoming. From preparing apartments for new residents to maintaining our buildings and grounds, you'll play an important role in creating spaces where people can heal and thrive.

What You'll Be Doing

Every day brings something different! You may:

• Keep parking lots and outdoor areas clean by removing snow, leaves, trash, and debris.
• Complete general building maintenance, including changing light bulbs, cleaning windows, minor furniture repairs, and moving office furniture or equipment.
• Pressure wash buildings and sidewalks.
• Prepare housing units for new residents by painting, cleaning, and making them move-in ready.

What We're Looking For

Schedule & Pay

• Monday–Friday | 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Occasional evenings or weekends for projects or emergencies
• Starting pay: $17.00/hour
