City of Lubbock is seeking a Maintenance and Workforce Support Specialist to provide administrative, coordination, and documentation support for Transmission & Distribution maintenance and workforce programs. The role centralizes scheduling, recordkeeping, inspection documentation, training support, and cross-department coordination to reduce administrative workload on supervisors and field leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain master inspection and maintenance calendar and track completion of activities.
  • Review, organize, and maintain inspection and maintenance documentation with photographic evidence for reporting/audit readiness.
  • Enter, update, and reconcile inspection, maintenance, and corrective-action information in work order and asset management systems.
  • Identify findings, trends, and outstanding corrective actions and track items through completion.
  • Schedule, prepare, and facilitate inspection and maintenance review meetings; develop agendas and track action items.
  • Coordinate inspection, maintenance, corrective-action, and training workflows with other departments.
  • Monitor workflow progress and follow up on pending items to support scheduled work.
  • Track employee training assignments and completion status; notify supervisors of overdue requirements.
  • Assist with employee testing activities including scheduling, facilitating, and proctoring assessments.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical records for maintenance and workforce activities and perform related duties.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

Job description

The Maintenance and Workforce Support Specialist provides administrative, coordination, and documentation support for Transmission & Distribution (T&D) maintenance and workforce programs. This position centralizes scheduling, recordkeeping, inspection documentation, training support, and cross-department coordination activities to reduce administrative workload on supervisors and field leaders.

  • Maintain the master inspection and maintenance calendar and track completion of scheduled activities.
  • Review, organize, and maintain inspection and maintenance documentation, including photographic evidence, to support reporting and audit readiness.
  • Enter, update, and reconcile inspection, maintenance, and corrective-action information within work order and asset management systems.

High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in administrative support for an electric utility or other skilled trades environment, including scheduling, documentation, or workforce coordination. Experience supporting maintenance, operations, or training programs is preferred.

Valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of inspection, maintenance, and training documentation processes;
  • Ability to maintain accurate, organized records and tracking systems;
  • Ability to work within work order, asset management, and training systems;
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and follow-up skills;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multiple departments and priorities.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand and walk during the shift;
  • Frequently pull or push objects;
  • Occasionally flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially at the knees;
  • Occasionally lift and carry up to 10 pounds;
  • Occasionally rotate upper trunk to the left or right while sitting or standing;
  • Place arms above. at. or below shoulder height.
