Job summary

Brookfield Renewable N.A. in Lewiston, ME seeks an experienced Maintenance Coordinator to oversee preventative maintenance across power stations. You will enter tasks in the IFS CMMS, create work orders, and ensure field packages meet regulatory requirements.

The role requires a four-year maintenance background on hydro power equipment, an engineering-related degree, and proficiency with MS Office. You will plan outages, manage budgets, and coach field technicians; flexibility for on-site work

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of experience in maintenance of power stations and equipment.
  • Associate degree in engineering or related field; bachelor’s preferred.
  • Working knowledge of hydropower turbine/generator systems and related codes.
  • Experience reading drawings, blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
  • MS Office proficiency and ability to learn parts ordering software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to plan and administer projects and budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Enter preventative maintenance tasks into the IFS CMMS.

  • Manage maintenance projects, define scope, and select vendors.
  • Develop station outage plans aligned with the annual schedule.
  • Assist in developing annual budgets with maintenance scopes and numbers.
  • Develop safety, environmental, and operational procedures for field use.
  • Lead reliability improvement efforts and mentor field technicians.
  • Plan and coordinate NERC testing and compliance tracking.
  • Respond to power system disruptions and supervise repairs.
  • Fill in for Manager, Operations as needed.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are entered into the Maintenance Management program (IFS);
  • Create work orders, print out preventative maintenance work packages and provide to technicians;
  • Ensure all work packages sent to the field are in compliance with all applicable regulatory licenses, permits, and codes of operation and conduct;
  • Close out preventative maintenance work packages when complete;
  • Manage maintenance and repair projects, define scope, send out RFQ’s, select vendor, prepare project safety plans, manage project execution in the field;
  • Develop station outage plans that fall in line with the annual maintenance schedule;
  • Assist the Senior Operations Manager in developing annual budgets by providing upcoming maintenance work scopes and budgetary numbers;
  • Develop safety, environmental, operational, and maintenance procedures to be used in the field;
  • Lead reliability improvement efforts in assigned area, which could include coaching or mentoring field technicians;
  • Plan and coordinate NERC testing and tracking in accordance with compliance program;
  • Be available for, and respond to, calls during power system disruptions to aid in problem solving and supervise repairs.
  • Fill in for Manager, Operations as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and verbal & written communication skills;
  • Excellent reasoning ability, critical thinking skills and organizational ability;
  • Understanding risk and means/methods to manage risk to accepted levels;
  • Ability to manage several priorities and work within tight deadlines;
  • Well organized, able to multitask, resourceful and shows initiative;
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products including Word, Power Point, Outlook and Project;
  • Prior experience using an electronic maintenance management system (IFS, Maximo, SAP, etc.)
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license – traveling required.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of four years of experience in the maintenance of power station and equipment maintenance (including transmission, distribution and generation systems)
  • Minimum associate’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Bachelor degree in engineering is a plus
  • Working knowledge of hydropower turbine/generator systems and related equipment, standards, codes and regulations
  • Experience with reading (and working from) drawings, blueprints, specifications, schematics
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and ability to learn additional software related to the ordering of parts and materials
  • Knowledge of related industry standards such as OSHA and NFPA and knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and safety/environmental rules and regulations
  • Ability to plan and administer projects and corresponding budgets.

Salary Range: $95K-$105K

Bonus: 10%
