Job summary

Perimeter Security Partners is seeking a motivated Traveling Field Technician with strong electrical and mechanical experience to maintain and repair access control points, Active Vehicle Barriers, and related equipment across the United States.

The ideal candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on vehicle barriers, CCTV, and power systems, with experience in PLCs, hydraulics, and low/high voltage controls.

Qualifications

• Experience as a field service technician on industrial systems, motors and drives.
• Ability to read schematics and single-line drawings.
• Familiarity with high voltage circuits up to 480 VAC and low voltage controls (12-24 VDC).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test for access to controlled areas.
• Desired: electrical certification / licensing.
• Desired: heavy equipment operator (forklift, lull, man lift)

Responsibilities

• Assess, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ACP & Active Vehicle Barrier equipment and CCTV systems.
• Identify and resolve issues within hydraulic systems and components (pumps, valves, cylinders).
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment using checklists and guidance.
• Provide daily reports on equipment condition and services performed.
• Develop material/equipment lists and labor estimates to correct deficiencies.
• Perform repairs and routine maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with Client security and personnel to minimize operational impact.
• Draft and organize electronic documentation for each repair or maintenance visit.
• Operate safely and coordinate maintenance of a service vehicle.

Job description

Perimeter Security Partners is looking for a motivated TRAVELING Field Technician with strong electrical and mechanical experience to maintain and repair access control points (ACPs), Active Vehicle Barriers and associated equipment throughout the United States. The Field Technician will conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on vehicle barriers and safety systems, portable message boards and generators light carts, and closed‑circuit television (CCTV) systems at industrial, commercial, government and military sites. The ideal candidate will have experience with hydraulic drive systems, electro‑mechanical drive systems, variable frequency drives, low voltage controls, programming logic controls (PLC), and electrical systems, especially those related to vehicle barriers and ACP equipment. Perimeter Security Partners has a robust maintenance and service team with seasoned lead technicians available for troubleshooting and support, with the goal of minimizing client system down time by providing quality technical support and customer service in a timely manner. The Field Technician will report to the Field Service Supervisor.

Duties

• The Field Technician must be able to work independently with little supervision, and to be a positive representative for Perimeter Security Partners with clients.
• Assess, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ACP & Active Vehicle Barrier equipment and CCTV systems.
• Identifying and resolving issues within hydraulic systems and components (pumps, valves, cylinders, etc.)
• Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment using checklists, manufacturer’s guidance, and technical expertise.
• Provide daily reports on equipment condition, services performed, and additional work needed.
• Develop material / equipment lists and labor estimates to correct deficiencies.
• Perform repairs, including replacing worn or damaged parts, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, fluid checks, and filter changes.
• Coordinate closely with Client security and other personnel to safely conduct maintenance and service actions while minimizing operational impacts.
• Draft and organize electronic documentation following each repair or preventive maintenance visit, including compiling receipts, reviewing completed checklists, obtaining Client approval signature(s), composing technician reports, and other close‑out documents.
• Operate in a safe manner and coordinate maintenance of a service vehicle.

Requirements, Skills, And Qualifications

• Experience as a field service technician on industrial systems, motors and drives
• Ability to read schematics and single‑line drawings
• Familiarity with high voltage circuits up to 480 VAC and low voltage controls (12‑24 VDC)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Desired: electrical certification / licensing

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds to waist level.

Additional Information

• Weekly travel to work sites throughout the United States, generally departing on Monday and returning Friday.
• Employee will be given a company credit card for approved expenses (e.g. hotel, fuel, tools, and materials). A fixed per diem to cover meals and incidental expenses will also be provided
• Hands‑on and other training opportunities available to augment skills and increase proficiency with a wide variety of security equipment
