This position offers long-term career growth and is classified as a Maintenance/Grounds Technician. It is with the Office of Administration Division of Facilities Management, Design, and Construction (OA-FMDC), supporting the Operations Team. OA-FMDC aims to strengthen the State’s infrastructure while providing a safe, secure environment through innovative design and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Perform manual labor related to receiving, handling, and storing building materials.
  2. Complete semi-skilled work in alteration, maintenance, and repair of state buildings, facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
  3. Maintain grounds through horticultural care, debris disposal, snow removal, and salt application.
  4. Assist in cleaning parking lots, patching, and painting asphalt.
  5. Perform light electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs, and painting.
  6. Complete work orders accurately and promptly.
  7. Work under supervision from a maintenance supervisor.
  8. Prioritize excellent customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
  9. Respond to emergency calls and travel to other facilities as needed.
  10. Provide after-hours and emergency coverage to ensure facilities and grounds are maintained.
  11. Possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license.
  12. Work outdoors under varying weather conditions and operate lawn maintenance tools.
  13. Follow safety precautions, demonstrate good attendance, and attention to detail.
  14. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  15. Possess general knowledge of groundskeeping and light trades work.
Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience in maintenance and repairs.
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to operate mowing machinery, tractors, and motorized equipment.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification (FMDC can provide if needed).

Lack of post-secondary education will not automatically disqualify applicants. A successful background check is required, which may include fingerprinting and other screenings.

This position is physically demanding, involving walking, standing, bending, climbing ladders, working in inclement weather, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Compensation includes overtime pay for hours over forty per week.
