Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts is hiring for a Maintenance and Grounds Technician. Come join a dedicated maintenance team that keeps facilities in shape and the grounds looking great.

Requirements

1. Assist with building, repairing, and painting structures, roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, counters, benches, partitions and other structures.
2. Transport items by hand, hand truck or motorized vehicle or machinery.
3. Care for established landscaping by mowing, watering, edging, mulching, aerating, weeding, and trimming; plant seeds, bulbs and plants; maintain flower beds.
4. Plant and maintain flower beds and grounds including fertilizing, irrigation and hand-watering.
5. Clean and organize work areas.
6. Perform minor maintenance work, groundwork or janitorial work.
7. May assist with diagnosis and repair of machine malfunctions.
8. Use fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and other pesticides.
9. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools.
10. Possesses a high level of reliability and timeliness, ability to meet deadlines, and availability to be on call as needed.
11. Operate vehicles and power equipment, such as mowers, tractors, and vans.
12. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electrical testing devices.
13. Maintain grounds and landscaping, assist with spring clean-up and fall clean-up.
14. Must have a valid driver's license.
15. Must be available to work some weekend days as needed.
16. Must be flexible with hours to accommodate for special functions or events.
17. Must be able to walk up and down hills and maintain some intense activity throughout the work day.
18. Must be able to routinely lift 50 pounds.
