Job summary

Air Techniques, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Manager at our New York headquarters to lead facility and maintenance operations. You will oversee preventive maintenance planning, budgeting, vendor management, and regulatory compliance to keep production running smoothly.

You will guide a technical team across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, coordinate inside and outside resources, and ensure accurate records using CMMS. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in a fast-paced manufacturing or facility maintenance environment.
• Strong experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Supervisory or maintenance management experience.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.
• Familiarity with 440V and 480V three-phase electrical systems.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and disposal techniques is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, supervise maintenance personnel and assign priorities.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Oversee troubleshooting and repair of production machinery and facility systems.
• Coordinate inspections and identify repairs, upgrades, or actions.

• Collaborate with Production and other departments for continuity.
• Provide hands-on support and mentoring to staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Description

Responsible for leading facility and maintenance operations to ensure buildings, production equipment, infrastructure, and related systems operate safely, efficiently, reliably, and with minimal disruption. The role combines technical maintenance leadership, preventive maintenance planning, budgeting, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and cross-functional coordination.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Lead, train, supervise, and manage maintenance personnel; assign priorities and provide performance feedback.
• Develop and execute preventive maintenance procedures and schedules for production equipment, building systems, and facilities to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
• Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and facility systems, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical systems, and related trades.
• Conduct and/or coordinate regular inspections of buildings, equipment, and systems; identify issues and recommend repairs, upgrades, or corrective actions.
• Prepare, monitor, and control the maintenance budget; track expenses and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Order and manage maintenance materials, tools, parts, shop equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors, including specialized maintenance, repair, renovation, and facility improvement work.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable health, safety, legal, regulatory, and quality requirements; promote a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment performance history, inspections, repairs, and work orders using computerized maintenance systems or methods.
• Respond promptly to urgent or emergency maintenance needs to minimize operational disruption.
• Partner with Production and other departments to support maintenance needs, facility improvements, and operational continuity.
• Guide maintenance staff in troubleshooting and repairs and provide hands‑on technical support when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience Requirements

• 5- 10 years of experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing, industrial, or facility maintenance environment.
• Strong experience with equipment repair and building maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Supervisory or maintenance management experience leading technical teams.
• Experience with computerized building or maintenance management systems.
• Familiarity with 440V and 480V three‑phase electrical systems.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste handling and disposal techniques is desirable.
