Job summary

Maintenance Aide II at City of Iowa City is a part-time, hourly position within Facilities Services. The role supports the library by cleaning and maintaining buildings and grounds under general direction.

Maintenance Aide II

Facilities Services

One hourly part-time position available.

Wage: $17.00 per hour

Hours: Sunday 10AM - 7PM.

Hours: Monday - Thursday 7PM-9:30PM.

Hours: Every 4th Saturday 5:30PM - 10:30PM

Job Summary

Under general direction, cleans and maintains buildings and grounds at the library.

Preferred Qualifications

• Four months of experience in building maintenance preferred.

Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a public building.
• Knowledge of custodial materials and equipment.
• Skills in the operation of various cleaning equipment including floor scrubbers and wet vacuums, and snow blower.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and maintain electronic or written job records.
