Job summary

Vulcan Metals Corporation in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Maintenance Administrator to manage requisitions, enter work orders, and maintain equipment records and inventory in our maintenance ERP.

You will collaborate with plant staff, source vendor quotes, manage PMs, and ensure safety and quality documentation; requires 2+ years in maintenance administration and high school diploma.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years' experience in an office or maintenance administration role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems preferred.

Position Overview:

The purpose of the Maintenance Administrator is to submit requisitions for parts and outside labor. They maintain equipment records, inventory status, and procedures. They input work orders, PM's, and time sheet information into the appropriate system. They collaborate with other departments and others within the maintenance department to make sure parts are ordered and to document work orders are complete.

Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Participate in special activities, projects and programs to support Vulcan Metals safety, quality and productivity goals.
  • Enter maintenance labor into ERP and work order systems.
  • Create and enter work orders in work order system.
  • Print preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and update, add, or remove PM's as required.
  • Research and obtain vendor quotes for parts as needed to support maintenance activities.
  • Enter requisitions into appropriate system for approval and processing.
  • Participate in the inventory and organization of maintenance storage areas
  • Alert Plant Engineer and Maintenance Supervisor to any safety or quality issues needing attention.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor and Planner regarding upcoming work and required parts or materials.
  • Develop and participate in the management of spare parts inventory systems and Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs.
  • Receive parts and materials physically and electronically, assign inventory numbers to all incoming and existing parts
  • Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform administrative tasks
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
  • 2+ years' experience working in an office or maintenance administration role
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Must be knowledgeable with the use of Microsoft Office .
  • Experience with ERP and maintenance management systems, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Strong verbal, written, and oral communication skills at all levels.
  • Effective time management and organizational ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, requirements/specifications, and technical documents.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, stand, and walk or sit for extended periods.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for computer-based data entry, document review, and verification of maintenance records and inventory.
  • Must be able to lift 55 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Abillity to work both indoors and outdoors with occasional exposure to varying weather conditions, temperature extremes, noise, and dust.
Pay Range:

$54,405-68,006 k/year (salaried, non-exempt)

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm
