Job Summary

Maintenance Coordinator oversees and manages all aspects of equipment maintenance. Oversees development, implementation and maintenance of Equipment Management System (EMS), including PC software and new procedures. They ensure that equipment and facilities are properly maintained, minimize downtime, and contribute to the overall operational efficiency. This involves coordinating maintenance activities, managing work orders, scheduling preventative maintenance, and maintaining accurate records. Oversees monthly data consolidation and reviews reports for reasonableness. May back up Customer Service-Weighmaster and Quality Control Technician positions.

Essential Functions

  • Data entry ensuring all assets are entered into the Equipment Management System.
  • Responsible for adding/modifying PM schedules for all equipment in the system.
  • Maintain Work Orders for Central Services. This includes opening and closing work orders with completion notes for all repairs.
  • Lead in helping Plant Managers establish, maintain and direct mobile and fixed equipment preventive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain oil analysis system, including: Setting up new equipment/transferring equipment/updating lubes and quantities/training end users on system requirements.
  • Monitor oil sampling program for fixed and mobile equipment assets, recommending actions for results out of tolerance and trending acceptable results to predict failure.
  • Generate customized, standard and ad-hoc reports outlining Equipment Costs for budget planning and Projected Replacement of mobile equipment.
  • Review and provide reporting on Open Work Orders with Plant and Area Management to ensure alignment with Vulcan’s best practices.
  • Process and document equipment transfers and advise on the documentation of maintenance actions for mobile equipment assets.
  • Demonstrate leadership in directing the planning, design, and establishment of data entry standards used in the Equipment Management System.
  • Ensure dependable application of Equipment Management System procedures, data integrity, and security assignments required to interface maintenance, procurement, and inventory functions.
  • Provide support to end users through both on site and remote communications.
  • Review reports throughout the month and at month-end to ensure that the system is being properly utilized and follows-up with users and managers when problems are determined.
  • Responsible for executing equipment transfers with the Equipment Management System.
  • Maintain equipment numbers on Accounting Database and in the Procurement System.
  • Participate in month-end accounting functions with regard to diesel fuel / gasoline inventory and accounting and fuel allocation. Prints inventory reports, reviews reports, and creates journals via system software. Investigates discrepancies in data from the plants with regards to physical versus book inventory.
  • Additional Responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as industrial maintenance or engineering technology a plus.

Experience

  • At least one year of experience in maintenance.
  • Able to communicate with other employees for the purpose of reporting problems with equipment and receiving assignment procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Strong organizational, analytical, communication and computer skills are required.
  • Experience administering databases or deployed application and report writing is desired.
  • Experience in managing data of fixed and mobile equipment in the aggregates industry is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Must be comfortable with computer systems and learning new software.
  • Able to communicate with employees over various levels of the organization.
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of training and work experience, including financial and analytical skills will be considered.
  • Estimate travel - 30-40% first year, thereafter approximately 25%

Other Requirements

  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
  • May be involved in training maintenance staff on new equipment or procedures.
  • Travel within the Division area and possible to Corporate.
  • Ensuring that maintenance work is completed to the required standards and meets quality control expectations.
