Job summary

Modine Manufacturing Company in the United States is seeking a skilled maintenance/millwright to perform detailed maintenance on buildings, utilities, equipment and grounds at our Grand Prairie facility.

You will install and maintain gas, water, steam and air lines, operate metal working equipment, and train operators. Requires high school diploma or GED and ability to pass welding tests; we offer competitive health benefits and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must pass Modine welding test, acetylene and arc weld test, and maintenance test.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs detailed maintenance work on buildings, utilities, equipment, machinery and grounds as required.
• Installs and maintains gas, water, steam and air lines; moves machinery and equipment; performs millwright work using scaffolds, cranes, hoists and other tools.
• Sets up and operates metal working equipment such as press brakes, lasers, drills and saws; maintains and repairs tools, air infrastructure and machinery.
• Train operators on equipment operation and maintenance and advise supervisor of irregularities.

Position Description

Key Responsibilities

• Performs detailed maintenance work on buildings, utilities, equipment, machinery and grounds as required.
• Works from verbal and written instructions, blueprints, machinery layouts and sketches. Installs and maintains gas, water, steam and air lines, etc. Must have knowledge and skills to install or move machinery and equipment, and perform other millwright work. Uses such equipment as scaffolds, cranes, hoists, fork trucks, scissor lifts, etc. as well as various trade tools. Performs masonry, painting,
  plumbing, welding, carpentry and minor electrical work as necessary. Must have working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Able to assemble, install, and maintain air piping and hosing, including fittings and manifolds
• May work independently and/or direct the work of other maintenance classifications as required.
• Must be able to set-up and operate metal working equipment, such as, press brakes, lasers, drills, saws, etc.
• Must be able to maintain and repair a wide range of tools, air infrastructure, air compressors, and machinery
• Experience maintaining generators and boilers a plus
• Must use considerable care and judgement in carrying out assignments to protect himself and others from possible hazards.
• Recommend, maintain, and perform equipment preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory.
• Must be able to set-up and operate all equipment within department or area. Train operators on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Advises Supervisor of irregularities in the operation.
• Works closely with department personnel to reduce costs and improve operations.

Required Education & Qualifications

Must be able to pass Modine welding test, acetylene and arc weld test, and maintenance test covering job requirements
