Grand Hyatt Kauai in Poipu, Hawaii, seeks a Maintenance 2 Mechanic to manage water feature systems, perform repairs, and support preventative maintenance in a high‑end resort environment.

You will install electrical and mechanical systems, handle plumbing tasks, and assist with project planning while ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA guidelines. The role requires 4–6 years of water features experience and a strong team mindset.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Driver’s License.
• 4-6 years of experience in water features and pool chemistry.
• Forklift Certification preferred.
• Certified Pool Operator certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, service and repair water feature systems/equipment.
• Assist with research, planning and scheduling projects, and generate purchase orders.
• Install electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and plumbing & piping within water features.
• Perform preventative maintenance per manufacturer guidelines and Hyatt standards.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly inspections per OSHA guidelines.
• Train others and maintain a clean, well‑marked equipment room.

Overview

Join us for this incredible opportunity to be part of our Water Features Team as a Maintenance 2 Mechanic at Grand Hyatt Kauai located in Poipu, Hawaii.

Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, servicing and repairing the resort's systems/equipment in water features. Assists with research, planning & scheduling projects and generates purchase orders. Able to install electrical systems, mechanical equipment, perform work on plumbing & piping systems and any other systems related to water features operation. Must also complete preventative maintenance program for the systems and equipment. This position also requires complete daily, weekly and monthly inspections in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, state codes and Hyatt standards. Must have knowledge of pool chemistry and general pool maintenance practices, be able to train others and maintain a clean, safe, well‑marked equipment room in accordance with OSHA guidelines.

90 Day Probationary Rate: $34.05 per hour / Hourly Rate: $40.06 per hour
