Job summary

Carlynton High School is seeking a Maintenance worker to perform carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, with duties including window replacement, painting, and general upkeep of facilities and grounds. The role supports events and daily operations on campus.

  • Assist with general custodial duties as assigned.

Job description

Position: Maintenance

Salary/Benefits: Consistent with the collective bargaining agreement

Building: Carlynton High School

Hours: 2:00 PM � 10:00 PM

Start Date: TBD

General Duties
  • Make necessary building repairs in connection with carpentry.
  • Make necessary building repairs in connection with plumbing.
  • Make necessary electrical repairs when possible.
  • Complete all repairs of handyman nature.
  • Replace broken windows.
  • Responsible for painting.
  • Responsible for snow plowing of roadways.
  • Make general repairs to furniture and equipment.
  • Responsible for general upkeep of grounds, trimming, grass cutting with tractor or other equipment, and other related functions.
  • Maintain pool filtering system.
  • Hauling chairs for commencement exercises, etc.
Duties Not To Be Performed
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer and technology skills related to data collection, record maintenance, communication, and office operations
  • No moving of pianos up or down stairs, or from one building to another.
  • No moving heavy equipment such as drill presses, lathes, etc.

** All employees under this agreement may be used as custodians at the discretion of the District. **

Driver’s License:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
Clearances:
  • Every employee must submit an Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form as required under Pennsylvania Act 24 of 2011, Act 34 (Criminal Record Check), Act 151 (Child Abuse History Check), FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) Criminal History Check, Act 126 (Part I) Recognizing Child Abuse and Mandated Reporter Training, and Act 126 (Part II) Professional Ethics & Educator Discipline Act.
  • As per Act 15 of 2015, all clearances must be renewed every five (5) years. Also, as of December 22, 2014, Act 168 of 2014 requires all newly hired employees to provide the District with the Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release Form for all former employers in which they had direct contact with children and any current employer/s. The District may not hire any applicant for a position until the employment history review process has been completed.
Terms of Employment:
  • Work year, salary and benefits defined as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Carlynton School District and the Custodial/Maintenance Collective Bargaining Agreement.
