Job summary

Friendship Village Retirement Community in Waterloo, IA is hiring a Maintenance team member to fix, maintain, or install items throughout the campus for the comfort of our senior residents. The role supports keeping facilities attractive both indoors and outdoors and requires dependable, hard-working individuals.

Hours are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm on weekdays with rotating weekends; on-call availability and holidays may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prior maintenance experience preferred.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Fix, maintain, or add items in the homes of residents and campus facilities.
• Keep buildings clean and in good repair inside and out.
• Collaborate with Residents, Staff and Guests and communicate openly.

Work on general maintenance requests to fix, maintain, or add items in the homes of our retired seniors and throughout all areas of our campus. Working Hours:

Hours will vary depending on the season but primary hours are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Monday to Friday with rotating weekend coverage. Our facilities are open 365 days a year, so candidates must be flexible and willing to work any hours including weekends or holidays on an on-call basis as needed.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Transportation and valid drivers license
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Prior maintping experience required
• Able to safely operate landscaping equipment without restrictions
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Residents, Staff and Guests.
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather. There is a frequent need to stand, stop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 100 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
