Job summary

Kana Hotel Group is seeking a dedicated team member for housekeeping and maintenance responsibilities at our Tuscaloosa-area property. Duties include cleaning the pool area, maintaining grounds, checking maintenance logs, stocking supplies, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met to enhance guest experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, hospitality experience preferred, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the pool area and exercise room.
• Keep grounds clear of trash and clean parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, and entrance; weed removal included.
• Check maintenance log in front office and fix problems.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties.
• Report problems that cannot be fixed to the manager on duty for professional help.
• Report issues affecting guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM.
• Keep storage area clean and secured before clocking out.
• Ensure adequate housekeeping supplies and linens on each floor; restock as needed.
• Verify exterior lights are working and report safety hazards.
• Maintain inventory in stock room for at least two weeks and flag when supplies need ordering.
• Follow and complete guest room inspection checklist for each room.
• Clean equipment and HVAC filters, as well as windows and doors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean andmaintain the pool area and exercise room
• Keeps grounds clear of visible trash and cleans the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, & entrance thoroughly, including weed removal
• Check the maintenance log in the front office & fixes any problems
• Work on any preventive duties
• Report any problem that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty so that professional help can be contacted
• Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM
• Keep the storage area clean everyday and lock all storage areas before clocking out
• Ensure that there are enough housekeeping supplies on each floorandthere are enough linens & supplies in stock
• Verify that all exterior lights are working properly
• Report & fixes any safety hazards throughout the hotel
• Ensures that the stock room has sufficient inventory to last at least two weeks & brings it to the attention of the GM if any supply needs to be ordered
• Follow & fill out the guest room inspection checklist on each room
• Cleansequipment. the filters on all HVAC units, and windows and doors
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• Highschool Diploma/GED required
• Hospitality experience preferred
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
