Job summary

Kana Hotel Group is seeking a maintenance associate to keep the pool and exercise room clean and safe, maintain grounds, and support daily property operations in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, hospitality experience, and the ability to work independently. Preference given to candidates with an AA in maintenance and related craft apprenticeship experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Hospitality experience preferred.
• AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain the pool area and exercise room.
• Keep grounds clean and parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways and entrances free of trash.
• Check maintenance log and fix problems or report to management.
• Perform preventive maintenance duties.
• Report issues affecting guest satisfaction to manager or GM.
• Keep storage areas clean and secure, stock housekeeping supplies.
• Ensure exterior lights function properly and safety hazards are addressed.
• Maintain inventory in the stock room and notify GM for needed orders.
• Follow guest room inspection checklists and service equipment like HVAC filters.

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean andmaintain the pool area and exercise room
• Keeps grounds clear of visible trash and cleans the parking lot, sidewalks, breezeways, stairs, & entrance thoroughly, including weed removal
• Check the maintenance log in the front office & fixes any problems
• Work on any preventive duties
• Report any problem that cannot be easily fixed to the manager on duty so that professional help can be contacted
• Report any problems that would interfere with guest satisfaction to necessary departments and GM
• Keep the storage area clean everyday and lock all storage areas before clocking out
• Ensure that there are enough housekeeping supplies on each floorandthere are enough linens & supplies in stock
• Verify that all exterior lights are working properly
• Report & fixes any safety hazards throughout the hotel
• Ensures that the stock room has sufficient inventory to last at least two weeks & brings it to the attention of the GM if any supply needs to be ordered
• Follow & fill out the guest room inspection checklist on each room
• Cleansequipment. the filters on all HVAC units, and windows and doors
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience

• Highschool Diploma/GED required
• Hospitality experience preferred
• Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred
• An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
