What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Technician / Industrial Mechanic, you will help minimize equipment downtime and support safe, efficient production operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs to improve reliability and performance.
- Work on damaged electrical wiring when shortages, severed wires, or other electrical issues occur.
- Maintain and troubleshoot building HVAC equipment to keep climate-control systems functioning properly.
- Perform routine building and facility maintenance, including repairing structural damage and supporting general facility upkeep.
- Apply preventive measures to building systems and equipment to reduce the risk of future problems.
- Identify and repair potential safety hazards..
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document repairs, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance activities.
- Assist with equipment calibration, installation, modification, and improvement projects.
- Fabricate and install parts as needed.
- Support food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
- Work closely with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Follow established safety procedures and wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
Preferred Experience & Education
- At least 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Maintenance Technician or mechanic experience preferred.
- Vocational training or technical education in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
- Electrical wiring and electrical-system troubleshooting capabilities.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge of boilers, pumps, motors, and conveyor systems.
- Groundskeeping skills for outdoor facility areas as needed.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs and industrial control systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure work is completed properly and warning signs of potential problems are not overlooked.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally and pleasantly with employees and others throughout the facility.
