• Mix and prepare painting materials per manufacturers directions.
• Use stains, latex or oil-based paints on door and trim when applicable.
• Repair holes and wall cracks using drywall, tape and mud as needed.
• Install gypsum board, tape and mud wall sections and install corner bead and trim.
• Protect work and property from damage during painting or finish work.
• Be able to perform emergency repairs to prevent injuries and damage to village property.
• Follow all safety rules and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Perform other maintenance duties as assigned.

Encore Village of Schaumburg is currently hiring for full time Painters/Maintenance. This job would provide services for the repair and maintenance of the building and fixtures comprising the building.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and paint walls and ceilings using primer and latex top coats per manufacturers instructions.
• Mix and prepare painting materials in accordance with manufacturers directions.
• Use stains, latex or oil based paints over primer if applicable on door and trim applications.
• Repair holes, wall cracks using drywall, tape and mud as needed.
• Install gypsum board, tape and mud wall sections and install corner bead and trim.
• Protect work and property of others, whether to be painted or not, against damage by painting or finish work.
• Be able to do emergency repairs to prevent injuries and unnecessary damage to village property.
• Be able to work efficiently with various tools needed to do maintenance work.
• Respond to all emergency situations as requested.
• Follow all safety rules and maintain work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform other Maintenance duties as assigned.

Experience

• Previous experience in healthcare, long term care, or other commercial finish construction helpful.
