Job summary

Bunge is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic at its Cairo, Illinois plant to maintain, repair and keep plant equipment running at peak performance. The role is a Monday–Friday day shift from 7:00am to 3:00pm with overtime, call-outs, weekends and an on‑call rotation expected.

You will use hand and power tools, perform pumps maintenance, alignments, welding, pipe fitting, and document tasks per SOPs while upholding food safety standards and striving for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years or more of major industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklift, aerial lift, JLG, scissor lift, and other equipment.
• Ability to work primarily in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a high level of dedication to safety.

Responsibilities

• Regular use of hand tools, power tools, measurement devices including calipers, welders, pipe fitting equipment, cutting torch, etc.
• Lifting and rigging using cables & slings
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, centrifugal, rotary, and positive displacement pumps
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action; make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
• Working knowledge of laser alignment, ultrasonic and lubrication
• Replace gearboxes, drive couplings, chain drives, and belt drives
• Timely completion of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation according to standard operating procedures, applicable standards, guidelines, and policies
• Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements
• Must be willing to train for advancement
• Other duties as assigned

A Day in the Life:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of plant operational equipment.

Position Details:

Monday - Friday day shift, 7:00am - 3:00pm, no lunch

Overtime, call-out availability, weekends/holidays, and an on-call rotation are required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
