Job summary

Bunge is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Cairo, Illinois to maintain, repair and uphold plant equipment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps and process equipment, operate mobile equipment, and work in a non-climate-controlled environment, with overtime and on-call rotation.

The role requires 1–3 years of industrial maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a strong safety focus; training for advancement is encouraged.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years or more of major industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklift, aerial lift, JLG, scissor lift, and other equipment.
• Ability to work primarily in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a high level of dedication to safety.

Responsibilities

• Regular use of hand tools, power tools, measurement devices including calipers, welders, pipe fitting equipment, cutting torch, etc.
• Lifting and rigging using cables & slings.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, centrifugal, rotary, and positive displacement pumps.
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action.
• Working knowledge of laser alignment, ultrasonic and lubrication.
• Timely completion of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation.
• Commitment to supply safe food and maintain the site's food safety culture.
• Must be willing to train for advancement.
• Other duties as assigned.

A Day in the Life:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repairs and upkeep of plant operational equipment.

Overtime, call-out availability, weekends/holidays, and an on-call rotation are required.

Pay rate: $32.09 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:

• Regular use of hand tools, power tools, measurement devices including calipers, welders, pipe fitting equipment, cutting torch, etc.
• Lifting and rigging using cables & slings
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, centrifugal, rotary, and positive displacement pumps
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action; make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality
• Working knowledge of laser alignment, ultrasonic and lubrication
• Timely completion of tasks and work orders with appropriate documentation according to standard operating procedures, applicable standards, guidelines, and policies
• Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements
• Must be willing to train for advancement
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-3 years or more of major industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to operate mobile equipment such as forklift, aerial lift, JLG, scissor lift, and other equipment
• Ability to work primarily in a non-climate-controlled environment
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and a high level of dedication to safety

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior experience in a plant or similar environment
• Certifications for welding, electrical training, or industrial maintenance training
