Job summary

Tier1usa seeks a Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance team in garages across New York/New Jersey. The role combines hands-on maintenance with customer service while following safety and operational procedures.

Requirements include at least 2 years in related maintenance, ability to read safety documents, and a valid driver’s license. The position offers a flexible schedule and equal opportunity employment.

Responsibilities

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for a combination of hands-on maintenance and customer service, while following maintenance and operational compliance.

Principal Job Description:

• Follow the Company Standard Operating Procedures as well as policies regarding professionalism, uniforms, and grooming standards.
• Note and report any safety condition relating to equipment or place of employment.
• Analyze and resolve work problems, assist co-workers in solving work problems.
• Process and carry out maintenance work order forms/requested.
• Report all completed/uncompleted work performed to Operations Manager daily.
• Assist with keeping an accurate inventory of supplies and equipment.

Requirements:

• Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehendEnglish.
• A minimum of 2 years related maintenance experience preferred.
• Must be proactive with strong personal drive, people person and must be willing to lead by example.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and work orders.
• Ability to apply common sense/understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
• Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule.
• License Requirement:
  • Must possess a valid state‑issued driver’s license.
  • Must have 2 or more years of road experience and an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have experience/knowledge to drive an F‑250 pick‑up truck.

Experience/Skills:

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills required.
• Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing priorities and assignments.
• Must have experience/knowledge to use various power tools like
  • drills, jack hammer, cutting saws and angle grinder.
• Must have some experience/knowledge with commercial painting/parking lot striping.
• Must have some experience/knowledge with concrete/blacktop repair preferred.
• Must have some experience/knowledge with plumbing/electrical, preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements – heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
