Job summary

Richardson's Carrington, ND facility is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support milling and pasta production. This role involves preventative and predictive maintenance on process systems, boilers, HVAC, and utilities, with exposure to GMPs and food safety standards.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (or technical degree), 2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience, welding skills, and ability to work weekends and overtime.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree or higher in a mechanical/electrical field preferred.
• Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, metal work, and fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance on process systems including mill, production, packaging, utility, and other facility equipment.
• Troubleshoot process systems with manuals and schematics; support operations.
• Maintain utility operations including boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, water supply and HVAC systems.
• Document work, PM checklists, work orders, permits; uphold GMPs and food safety standards.
• Identify and act on continuous improvement opportunities in safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation.

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic at our Carrington, ND durum milling and pasta production facility, where we produce Dakota Growers pasta.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with preventative and predictive maintenance on process systems including mill, production, packaging, utility, and other facility equipment
• Partner with operations to troubleshoot issues on process systems , utiliz ing machine manuals and schematics
• Assist with maintaining utility operations including boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, water supply and HVAC systems
• Document work ( PM checklists, work orders, permits, etc. ) and m aintain GMPs, safety and food safety standards
• Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent from and accredited institution and one of the following:
• Two-year associates degree or higher in technical field (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, etc.) or equivalent
• Military training and experience in a relevant Military Occupational Specialty (MOS)
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a mechanic, maintenance, electrical, electro-mechanical, controls and automation, or related role
• Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, welding, metal work, and fabrication
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and overtime

Preferred Qualifications:

• Maintenance experience in a food manufacturing facility
• Experience reading blueprints and schematics
• Experience with MIG, TIG, and stick welding
• Experience with power transmission components such as belt drives, chain drives, bearings, motors & gears
• Experience with drill presses, lathes, Bridgeport-type mills
• Experience with operation and maintenance of forklifts, scissor lifts, and articulated lifts

• Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

Shift: 1:30pm-10pm or 9pm-7:30am

Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday

Starting Pay: $35.50/hr
