Job summary

Bridgewater State University is hiring Maintainer I positions in Facilities Management to perform custodial and general building maintenance across campus. These full-time, 12-month AFSCME unit roles are essential and include Sunday-Thursday shifts with 7:30 a.m. start times.

Two positions available at BSU Campus Wide; background check and pre-employment physical required. Salary: $1,740.88 bi-weekly. Union affiliation and terms apply.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a welcoming environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Perform detailed custodial maintenance of academic, residential, administrative, research, athletic, dining, and campus facilities.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and showers.
• Sweep walkways, vacuum, shampoo carpets, scrub, wax, and buff floors.
• Polish furniture and woodwork.
• Move and reset furniture in residential and academic buildings.
• Remove trash, including broken furniture and materials.
• Conduct indoor/outdoor maintenance tasks, including snow removal.
• Participate in large-scale cleaning and maintenance projects.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support university operations when needed.

Full-time, 12 Month, AFSCME unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement. *** 2 positions available Sunday to Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Friday and Saturday as days off) Location BSU Campus Wide. This is an essential position. *Initial assignment only.
