The qualified candidate must be willing to accept training in the computerized climate control system and any/all equipment for which BAM provides training for. To maintain the position of Maintainer, the selected candidate must be willing to secure and maintain all necessary licenses and certificates required by New York State, New York City, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
The following additional NYC Fire Department Certificates of Fitness must be held, but can be obtained within 6 months of start of employment and must be maintained throughout employment:
The selected candidatemust be willing to work any shifts as may be required. In an emergency, the Maintainer is identified as an essential worker, and overnight shifts may be required. The position requires work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Tasks require manual dexterity and ability to safely use hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws) and operate equipment (e.g., tractor, snow removal machines, jack hammer, table saw). Some tasks require climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.
Schedule: 3:00PM – 12AM, Thurs/Fri off (subject to change)
Must work in all buildings as needed
This position is full-time and non-exempt, eligible for OT, and benefits. The salary range for this role is $58,400 – 62,000 and will be paid in accordance with the BAM/DC37 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
