Paycom - ATS in Cocoa Beach, FL is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform unskilled and semi-skilled trades across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, roofing and more.

You will cover custodial tasks when needed, operate light to heavy equipment, and report repair needs to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor. Graduation from high school and 2–4 years in building trades preferred. This is a full-time day-shift role requiring reliability and readiness for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience in building trades construction and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Plumbing repairs on toilets, urinals, showers, sewage lines etc.
• Electrical repairs: replacing switches, outlets, LED drivers; install/repair lighting.
• Carpentry and renovation work from minor to major projects.
• Assist in HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces, including touch-ups.
• Repair and maintain fencing across property.
• Patch and repair drywall surfaces as needed.
• Repair roofing components like leaks, shingles, flashing.
• Install and replace tile, carpet, and flooring as required.
• Concrete, block, stucco work on buildings as needed.
• General appliance repair for common equipment.

Job Details: Job Location: Public Works - Cocoa Beach, FL 32931, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: High School, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Facilities, Starting $20.18/hour, plus a generous benefit package including PTO, 11 paid holidays, Pension, Insurance, and more.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under general supervision, performs unskilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of all City facilities and properties. This includes work in multiple building trades such as: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC repair, painting, window and door repair and replacement, fencing, drywall, roofing, signage, tile and flooring, concrete, block, and stucco work, and appliance repair. This job will also include miscellaneous responsibilities such as covering for custodial staff when necessary, rodent control, putting together office furniture and equipment, operating light to heavy equipment, and pulling a trailer on a regular basis. Employee is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and reporting any repair needs in City facilities. Employee will report to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

• Plumbing repairs on toilets, urinals, showers, sewage lines etc.
• Electrical repairs such as: replacing light switches, outlets, ballasts, LED drivers etc. Installing new lighting as required and troubleshooting any other electrical issues we may come across.
• Carpentry and renovation works from minor to major remodeling and restoration, repair, or alteration.
• Minor HVAC troubleshooting and repair.
• Minor to major painting projects from repainting entire buildings to paint touch up.
• Fencing repair and maintenance on fencing of all types.
• Hanging and general repair and patching of drywall.
• Minor roofing maintenance and repair such as patching leaks and replacing shingles, flashing, drip edge etc.
• Installing signage.
• Installing and replacing tile, carpet, and other forms of flooring.
• Concrete, block, and stucco repairs on buildings.
• General appliance repair such as repairing washing machines, dryers, dish washers, ice machines, refrigerators, garage door and gate openers etc.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs other related work as required and on occasion will assist other divisions of Public Works when the need arises

***May be required to work during a declared emergency and may be requested to work during an undeclared emergency or in the aftermath of an event associated with a declared emergency. On an incident-by-incident basis, the employee's Department Head or designee will make the determination when the employee will be required to work.
