Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Plant Maintenance Mechanic I to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment at U.S. sites to ensure safe and reliable operations. You will troubleshoot mechanical issues, inspect and repair production machinery, and document work and materials used.

Work environments include moving equipment, exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise levels. A strong commitment to safety and teamwork in a fast-paced setting is essential.

Qualifications

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment to support safe and reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Inspect, adjust, and repair production machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with plant operations to minimize downtime and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used.
What Are We Looking For
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

Conditions of Employment
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
  • Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
Work Environment
  • Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
