Job summary

ComEd in Oak Brook Terrace, IL seeks a skilled fleet technician responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles, ensuring regulatory compliance and achieving OEM certifications within one year.

The role requires a CDL A with Hazmat/Tanker endorsements, ability to perform heavy manual work, and the stamina to work with minimal supervision; union participation is part of the job.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain).
• Proven knowledge of maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of company vehicles and equipment.
• Capable of heavy manual labor.
• Demonstrates safe behavior.
• Able to complete formal training and schooling sessions.
• Strong oral and written communication.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Must achieve at least 4 OEM certifications within one year.

Primary Purpose

Responsible for fleet maintenance. Responsible for adherence to all governmental regulations and compliance with company policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Required to achieve the company-approved minimum 4 O.E.M (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications within one year from date of employment. Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL Class A driver's license with Hazmat, Tanker, endorsements (or the ability to attain) and retain thereafter
• Must have demonstrated a thorough working knowledge of the operation, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of the company vehicles, work equipment, and specialized tools through formalized training
• Must be capable of performing heavy manual labor without restriction.
• Must have demonstrated safe behavior
• Must have the ability to succeed formal training and schooling sessions
• Must be capable of effective oral, written, and verbal electrical communication
• Must be capable of working without direct supervision.
• Required to achieve the company-approved minimum 4 O.E.M (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications within one year from date of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fluid power hydraulics
• 4 O.E.M (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications or experience with diesel-hydraulic vehicles
