Job summary

Synechron seeks a Mainframe Systems Programmer to support IBM z/OS environments, automate tasks, and ensure high availability. You will handle system programming, security, and batch processing while collaborating across teams to optimize performance and reliability.

The role emphasizes automation scripting (REXX, JCL, Python), SAS batch processing, RACF security and Linux-related integrations in a large enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Expertise in JCL for mainframe job control.
• Proficient in REXX scripting for automation.
• Experience with SAS administration and batch processing.
• Hands-on with TWS/IBM Workload Scheduler.
• Good working knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience in Python scripting and automation.
• Strong RACF security administration knowledge.
• Understanding of mainframe ops, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support IBM z/OS and mainframe infrastructure.
• Perform system programming: installation, customization, maintenance, troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using REXX, JCL, Python.
• Support batch processing and scheduling with Tivoli/IBM Workload Scheduler.
• Manage SAS integrations and batch execution processes.
• Administer RACF security configurations and access controls.
• Collaborate with Linux environments for integrations and ops.
• Monitor performance, capacity, tuning, and problem determination.
