Job summary

Broadcom’s Mainframe Software Division seeks a senior Software Engineer to design, test, and secure mainframe applications within an Agile team. You will focus on cryptographic security, PKI, and encryption in z/OS environments, collaborating with product management and customers to meet enterprise needs.

You will work on cryptography, security controls, and PKI in mainframe contexts, contributing to high-quality software, code reviews, and continuous improvement across the development

Qualifications

• Proven Mainframe knowledge with z/OS familiarity.
• Proficiency in IBM Assembler and Metal C.
• Strong security and cryptography domain knowledge on mainframes.
• Experience with ICSF, PKCS, and z/OS SSL.
• Knowledge of PKI and cryptographic hardware such as CEX coprocessors.
• Experience with IBM Z Java cryptographic services.
• Understanding of TLS/SSL, AES, RSA, ECC, hashing, and PQC.
• Experience managing keys and certificates with ACF2/Top Secret/RACF.
• Strong debugging (XDC) and dump analysis skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop software design and architecture for mainframe security solutions.
• Test, debug, and document software adhering to coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews and improve development processes.
• Actively contribute in Agile ceremonies and deliver stories within sprints.
• Engage with customers for requirements and feedback sessions.
• Collaborate with product management and internal teams for technical alignment.
• Automate tasks and ensure up-to-date security tooling and configurations.
• Validate software quality and test coverage across z/OS environments.
