Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic candidate with leadership experience and technical skills to serve as a Mainframe Lead. The role requires coding in COBOL/CICS/DB2, collaborating with the ITO and ATCSU unit, developing and modifying programs, unit testing, participating in system testing, and creating supportive documentation. The consultant will report directly to a Project Manager and work closely with business and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Acquaint yourself with the Criminal/Probation system and related Judiciary applications to develop from business/system requirements.
• Collaborate with the ITO and ATCSU unit to provide technical expertise and implement business/system requirements.
• Develop, deliver, and modify COBOL/CICS/DB2 programs as specified.
• Perform unit testing of code and participate with users in system testing.
• Create supportive documentation for programs and processes.
• Work under the supervision of a Project Manager.
• Participate in usability testing with end users.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience coding, testing, and debugging programs written in COBOL/CICS/DB2.
• 5+ years’ experience with IBM OS/JCL (MVS) and IBM/DB2.
• Experience with Stored Procedures.
• Experience with CICS.
• Experience with conversions from IDMS/DC to CICS and IDMS to DB2.
• 5+ years’ overall technical and IT experience.
• Experience in usability testing with end users.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
• 4‑year college degree or equivalent technical study.
