Job summary

Responsibilities

• Provide CICS administration, problem-solving and debugging support interfacing with application developers and DIT personnel.
• Provide Endevor configuration and release management support for software.
• Evaluate complex SQL queries and identify improvements for performance and cost savings.
• Maintain deep knowledge of Z/OS interrelationships and functionality.

Technical Specialist — MainframeOverview

This request is for a Technical Specialist who will serve as a mainframe expert. The ideal candidate should have mainframe skills including CICS, DB2, Elixir, Endevor, IMS, and JCL. Additional skills in middleware and MQ are beneficial.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The candidate should possess:

• Thorough knowledge of the Z/OS operating system and its interrelationships and functionality

• The ability to provide configuration management / release management support and guidance for Endevor software

• Thorough knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) programming language and techniques

• Thorough knowledge of tools and utilities to support DB2

• The ability to evaluate complex SQL queries and recommend suggestions for better software performance and cost savings

• The ability to provide CICS administration, problem-solving, and debugging support, interfacing with application developers as well as DIT personnel

The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in each of the following areas: thorough knowledge of the Z/OS operating system and its interrelationships and functionality; providing configuration management and release management support and guidance for Endevor software; knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) programming language and techniques; knowledge of tools and utilities to support DB2; and the ability to evaluate complex SQL queries. All of these skills are required.
