Job summary

Accenture California is seeking an experienced Mainframe Engineer to support modernization of a core banking platform from FIS Systematics to a cloud-native architecture. You will analyze current state systems, map COBOL/JCL/DB2 constructs, and collaborate with cloud data teams throughout a multi-year migration and coexistence period.

The role requires strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and hands-on experience with mainframe technologies and legacy-to-cloud transformations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands on experience with Mainframe technologies COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS.
• Direct working experience with FIS Systematics including familiarity with its core modules and batch architecture.
• Demonstrated experience in legacy system analysis and system-to-system mapping.
• Experience on an application modernization or cloud migration program.
• Ability to translate legacy technical constructs into cloud compatible designs.
• Strong written documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document current state Systematics architecture including application modules data flows batch cycles and downstream integrations
• Map legacy application and data structures to Oracle cloud core banking components
• Perform application portfolio assessment and contribute to migration and modernization strategy
• Trace and interpret COBOL JCL VSAM CICS and DB2 constructs and translate them into target state designs
• Support data mapping and transformation from mainframe data structures to cloud data models
• Produce mapping specifications interface definitions and migration artifacts to a documentation standard
• Partner with business stakeholders FIS and system integrators to confirm that target state designs hold to business rules encoded in the legacy platform
• Support testing validation and defect resolution across migration and post deployment phases
• Work within established SDLC quality and change control standards
