Job summary

Valiant Technologies LLC hires a skilled Mainframe Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise COBOL applications on IBM mainframe systems. You will work with JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM, ensuring robust batch processing and online transaction handling.

Collaborate with analysts, QA, and architects in an Agile environment to modernize legacy systems, optimize performance, and deliver reliable production solutions. Experience with Endevor/Changeman or Git is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proficient in COBOL/COBOL II with experience in enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of JCL and batch processing workflows.
• Experience with DB2 including SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with CICS online transactions and screen processing.
• Familiarity with VSAM datasets (KSDS/ESDS/RRDS) and TSO/ISPF.
• Experience performing code reviews, testing, and debugging on mainframe apps.
• Ability to work in Agile teams and collaborate with BA/QA/Architects.

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using IBM Mainframe technologies.

Develop and maintain COBOL programs to support complex business requirements.

Create, modify, and execute JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.

Work with DB2 databases, including SQL queries, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.

Develop and maintain CICS online transactions and screen processing.

Work with VSAM datasets, including KSDS, ESDS, and RRDS.

Analyze existing legacy applications and implement system enhancements.

Perform batch processing, job monitoring, scheduling, and troubleshooting.

Develop and maintain production support solutions for critical mainframe applications.

Identify and resolve application defects, abends, and performance issues.

Perform code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and system testing.

Work on mainframe application modernization and legacy system migration initiatives.

Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, and cross-functional development teams.

Optimize COBOL programs and DB2 queries for improved application performance.

Manage source code using Endevor, Changeman, or Git.

Support application deployments, release management, and production implementation.

Prepare technical documentation and participate in Agile development activities.
