Job summary

Stefanini Group is seeking a Software Developer to join a contract engagement in Reading, PA. The resource will work on COBOL-based mainframe systems (CICS and batch) to support a manufacturing expansion project.

The role requires strong COBOL, JCL, and mainframe skills, with experience in VSAM, SDF II, CEDF, and debugging tools. The assignment is 6–9 months with agile delivery and close collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in COBOL II, JCL, CICS, and related mainframe languages.
• Experience with VSAM files and SDF II.
• Familiarity with CEDF and debugging utilities.
• Knowledge of File Manager/FileAid.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with Easyretrieve and IBM Debugging Utility.

Responsibilities

• Modify COBOL code on IBM z/OS mainframe for manufacturing systems.
• Work in agile development to address evolving requirements for the Carpenter Brownfield expansion.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure quality, performance, and security.
