Job summary

DTCC in New York seeks a seasoned data professional to run and validate the Data Collection and Reporting process, design SAS reports, and manage MICS/MXG data architectures.

You will work with mainframe capacity data (SMF, RMF, CICS, DB2, MQ), perform risk assessments, and develop ad hoc reports for senior management.

This role requires 5–10 years of related experience, a math/statistics degree, and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or statistics preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • SAS experience required.
  • Understanding of mainframe technology and components.
  • MICS/MXG experience essential.
  • Familiarity with mainframe capacity / performance data (SMF, RMF, CICS, DB2, MQ).
  • MS Office skills, particularly intermediate PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills including data exploration, analysis, and production of models.
  • Solid background with descriptive statistics.
  • Inferential statistics are a plus.
  • W2 employment; GC and USC only.

Responsibilities

  • Run and validate the Data Collection and Reporting process using scheduling software.
  • Design basic reports using SAS.
  • Build and edit JCL in ISPF.
  • Create and update policies, job aids, and other documentation.
  • Learn MICS/MXG database architecture.
  • Diagnose MICS-related errors.
  • Execute and validate MICS administrative tasks to maintain proper maintenance.
  • Summarize data using basic methods.
  • Display data in an organized manner.
  • Identify and describe patterns and relationships.
  • Collect and report business volume data from varied sources.
  • Conduct risk assessments of extreme market conditions for selected business streams.
  • Produce and update Business Process Requirements documents for selected business streams.
  • Organize and store Capacity Planning artifacts for future retrieval.
  • Develop ad hoc reports for senior business and management forums.
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report mainframe processing capacity at DTCC.
  • Collect, process, and validate system resource data and business volume data for future analysis.

Requirements
  • 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a mathematics / statistics discipline preferred or equivalent work experience
  • SAS experience required
  • Understanding of mainframe technology and components
  • MICS/MXG experience essential
  • Familiarity with mainframe capacity / performance data (SMF, RMF, CICS, DB2, MQ)
  • MS Office skills, particularly intermediate PowerPoint and Excel skills
