Qualifications

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes cases; researches applicable laws; writes legal opinions, briefs, and memoranda to present findings.
  • Prepares cases and coordinates testimony with experts and presents before courts.
  • Develops legislation, rules, and procedures with senior management to ensure proper form and content.
  • Represents the agency before boards and committees to present and defend agency decisions.
  • Advises agency staff and outside attorneys on legal matters related to programs and projects.
