Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare the OR, gather supplies, and deliver instruments to the surgeon during procedures. You will maintain sterile fields and assist as a second assistant as needed, with emphasis on patient safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, assisting with positioning, and supporting the surgical team throughout cases. A strong emphasis on adherence to standards and annual competencies is required.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited (CAAHEP) surgical technologist school or equivalent military training.
• 10+ years’ experience as a Surgical Technician is preferred.
• High school diploma or GED and BLS certification are required.
• Must demonstrate basic critical thinking and independently perform primary role in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical cases by obtaining supplies, maintaining sterile field, and presenting instruments.
• Deliver instruments and supplies to surgeon and team; assist with positioning and draping.
• Assist with specimen handling, tissue preparation, and disposal per protocol; monitor equipment and supplies.
