Overview
Responsible for working alongside all housekeeping team members to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions of the resort, as well as assisting guests, housekeeping staff, and other departments in all housekeeping related functions in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner that maintains high standards of service hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and ensure all areas of the resort are clean including guest rooms, meeting rooms, corridors, elevators, restrooms, stairwells, and all other public spaces of assigned property.
- Complete morning and mid-shift walk-through of the units, monitoring the physical condition and ensuring all standards are met.
- Inform team members of basic cleaning duties required and proper use of equipment and chemicals.
- Become familiar with Boyne’s accommodations, meeting facilities, common areas, and furnishings.
- Prepare daily assignments for subordinates and meet with them to go over all duties of the day.
- Handle proper documentation for subordinates who do not follow rules and guidelines, and see the Executive Housekeeper before taking corrective action.
- Maintain continuous training, education, and development for team members.
- Complete all required checklists.
- Handle all unusual requests and immediate guest concerns, notifying proper personnel.
- Possess knowledge of chemicals and equipment used.
- Conduct daily morning meetings with team members.
- Complete weekly schedule and inventory to ensure all guest products, amenities, and supplies are at par level.
- Assist room attendants when necessary.
- Check staffing schedule daily for changes and communicate updates to staff, considering fluctuations in resort business flow.
- Comply with recycling program policies.
- Provide supervision and direction for all housekeeping department team members.
- Interview, hire, train, and appraise performance of new team members, including rewarding, coaching, and counseling staff.
- Address complaints and resolve issues effectively.
Qualifications
This position requires at least 24 months of experience in hospitality management along with the following skills:
- Perform repetitive movements.
- Bend or twist their body.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.
- Support the body using stomach and lower back muscles for extended periods.
- Remain physically active for long durations without fatigue.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Stand for long periods.
No travel requirements. This worker will supervise housekeeping staff.
