Job Summary
Main Cook at The Sheraton Palo Alto
The Sheraton Palo Alto is a highly respected destination Marriott hotel renowned for its exceptional service and world-class cuisine. We are seeking a main cook to join our culinary team and guarantee an unforgettable experience for our guests. The main cook will be responsible for creating delicious and unique dishes that meet the highest standard of quality and presentation. This is a full time role based in Palo Alto, CA with a focus on Hospitality/Restaurant culinary.

Compensation & Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a competitive bi-weekly salary of $27/hour. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation and holidays, 401(K) plan, and life insurance.

Responsibilities
• Prepare ingredients and cold and hot food items for the entrees, appetizers, desserts and other items according to recipe specifications and timelines
• Ensure all food items are prepared in an efficient and timely manner in accordance to the highest standards of quality
• Monitor and maintain food supplies in accordance with local health and safety regulations
• Ensure the sanitation of food service area/ equipment
• Be able to adjust menus, recipes and portions according to budget and customer preference
• Communicate with other culinary staff to ensure a smooth and efficient flow of operations

Requirements
• Proven experience as a Cook or related position
• Thorough knowledge of cooking techniques, procedures, regulations and related safety standards
• Working knowledge of kitchen equipment, tools and techniques
• Ability to work under pressure and handle a busy kitchen environment
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and communication skills
• Good physical condition and stamina (able to stand for long periods of time)
• HS diploma or equivalent along with SerSave California Food Handler Certification
