The Opportunity

Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is currently looking for a Cook 1 (Part Time).

Essential Function Of The Job & Qualifications

  • Prepare food items according to guest orders of consistent quality following recipe cards, as well as production, portion, and presentation standards; complete mis en place and set-up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service
  • Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not prepare beyond estimated needs
  • Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill
  • Assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift
  • Assist in the planning and development of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • Date all food containers and rotate as per policies, making sure that all perishables are kept at proper temperatures
  • Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages; return all food items not used to designated storage areas, being sure to cover/date all perishables
  • Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per policies
  • Assist in training, development, and evaluation of employees in the Kitchen through effective management and leadership to ensure that established cultural and benchmark standards are met
  • Effectively communicate with management, line staff, and other departments
  • Perform all other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management
  • The qualified candidate will possess a passion for flawless service and the highest level of integrity and work ethic. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of culinary experience in the hotel environment or similar experience
  • Flexible schedule required to include weekends and holidays
  • Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States of America
