Job summary

ESFM in Cambridge, MA is seeking a full-time Mailroom Clerk to accurately process mail, shipments, and distribution with a focus on superior customer service.

The role handles USPS and courier items, tracking and documenting shipments, and packaging hazardous materials with carrier software. Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm; requires a high school diploma and prior customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Relevant prior customer service experience.
• Preferred Dangerous Goods shipping certificate (49 CFR & IATA).
• Preferred knowledge of domestic and international shipping for Dangerous & Non-Dangerous Goods including country-specific guidelines.
• Preferred experience using shipping software used by common carriers (UPS, DHL, FedEx).

Responsibilities

• Receives, sorts, delivers, and processes courier items, interoffice mail, magazines and all USPS mail.
• Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
• Tracks courier and accountable items (FedEx, UPS, Certified Mail, etc.).
• Properly package, label and process all non-hazardous and hazardous materials using courier software.
• Researches and routes unidentified and generic mail.
• Coordinates, stages, and transports bulk mail items.
• Maintains accurate records of customer inquiries and fulfillment of requests.
